The client's background

Founded in Australia in the 1970s, our client has over the past decades become a global market leader in transfer agency and share registration, employee equity plans, mortgage servicing, proxy solicitation and stakeholder communications.

With 1,500 people working in its Bristol-based European headquarters alone, it employs over 3,000 people across the country with offices in London, Crossflatts, Skipton, St Helier, Doxford, Edinburgh and Halifax. Globally, the client employs over 12,000 staff and manages over 75 million customer records across all major financial markets.

About RedRock

Introduced to RedRock

RedRock was first introduced to our client in February 2006.

The company was looking to recruit several software developers for its Technology Services Division, and had spoken to a number of recruiters before engaging with RedRock to achieve this aim.

When tasked with these vacancies, our experienced and knowledgeable recruiters utilised RedRock's resourcing team to ensure that we were able to fill all three vacancies with candidates possessing the correct skills and experience within a timescale that enabled the client to deliver on time.


Replicating success

Having made these successful hires, the hiring manager of the Technology Services Division introduced RedRock to other areas of the business that also required additional IT staff.

After a similarly quick and effective recruitment process, RedRock successfully met the hiring targets set by the managers of the Infrastructure, Development and BA & Testing departments. By replicating our previous success in other areas of the business we had proven that we could be trusted in a range of different areas and job titles.

Trusted with a project

Having made a number of successful hires across a range of different departments and job titles, we gained the client's trust and were offered the chance to prove ourselves further with a larger and significant project.

Following continued growth topped off with winning a significant project, the client required a large number of permanent software developers within a 26-week period to assist with additional workloads across its various development functions. The company required six .Net Developers, three Cobol Developers and three Perl Developers.

Recruitment for this large and important project was entrusted to RedRock because of our previous success and new status as a trusted recruitment partner.

Redrock worked closely with both the internal recruitment team as well as relevant hiring managers to agree a suitable approach to filling these roles. We collectively decided to invest in job board banner advertising to increase brand awareness, as well as holding open evenings and assessment centres in our Bristol office. By approaching candidates on various software development forum, we were also able to source the experienced developers required.

Over this period, the Account Manager and Resourcing Team typically worked a 12-hour, 6-day week in order to source the required number of candidates within the agreed timescales. We also helped the client to fine-tune how it presented and marketed its offering to candidates, as well as refining its own recruitment process.

How RedRock became the agency of choice

After working with the client for many years, by 2013 we were able to say that RedRock had become their ‘agency of choice’.

Key to our relationship had been RedRock's willingness to offer a visible and onsite presence at their Bristol headquarters. By maintaining a close relationship while being happy to deal with any issue that came up, we could react quickly and intuitively to their recruitment needs.

By taking the effort to create this connection, RedRock was also able to build an affinity with the organisation where we fully understood the character of the company. The client as a business is true to its Aussie roots, with a down-to-earth, straight-talking and ‘get stuff done’ attitude that is reflected in their working practices and their staff culture. Despite being a global organisation spread across many different countries, the client has a distinctive entrepreneurial spirit that RedRock was able to reflect when offering candidate lists.


After a fruitful partnership lasting over 15 years, RedRock can look back at over 400 permanent hires across the country for our client. We have hired on average over 25 people a year which is a testament to the trust that the client has in the way that we operate.
